The Strengthening Student Success conference provides a unique opportunity for a wide cross-section of people—including faculty, deans, program directors, student services staff, professional development leadership, researchers, and planners—to gather and brainstorm ways to strengthen institutional effectiveness and student learning.  Our 2009 conference will explore using evidence to improve practice, as well as the integration of curriculum with basic skills, student services, CTE, and college institutional effectiveness structures.

The conference has been designed to promote interactive learning, build connections with your peers, and provide opportunities to hear perspectives from other disciplines.  In addition to interactive conference sessions, informative briefings, and inspirational keynote presentations, you will have the opportunity to dig into pressing community college issues at facilitated work sessions, join half-day intensive workshops, and spend time networking. Conference strands will address cross-cutting issues such as "Teaching, Learning & Assessment in the Classroom," "Leadership and Sustainability for Assessment," and "the Basic Skills Initiative."

In keeping with the lean budget times, the Strengthening Student Success conference has been designed to be as affordable as possible. Registration fees for the three day event are just $375. Hotel rooms are available at a discounted rate of $140. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the San Francisco Airport, which also provides low-cost BART access to the City.

** UPDATE: Registration is now open for preconference Leadership Intensives on being a successful SLO coordinator, documenting the impact of Basic Skills efforts, using data tools, and exploring Faculty Inquiry. Find out more ...
