Transfer Tools: How To Put the Transfer Velocity Cohort Report’s Tools to Work at Your College

How can institutional researchers most effectively engage and support faculty, administrators and student service staff in using data to understand the transfer function of their colleges? Come learn about the Transfer Velocity Cohort Report (TVCP) which introduces a tool that can deepen our understanding of transfer rates over different time spans and for different populations. What questions are users of the tool likely to pose? We will discuss ways to support and use inquiry to engage the college community in a process that begins with increased awareness of transfer trends and that continues with the use of evidence to make informed decisions about how to best leverage efforts to increase transfer. Additionally, we will demonstrate a hands‐on exercise of how the TVCP’s Transfer Assessment Tool can be used by colleges to review key aspects of transfer activities and culture.
