What is a CTE Student and What are Our CTE Programs Accomplishing?
How does your college define a career and technical education (CTE) student? How does your institution know it is supporting CTE students in achieving their goals? How does your college determine the impact of its CTE programming on your region’s economic and social well‐being? And what do you think is the overall trend statewide in terms of CTE programming and enrollment? Moving beyond the Perkins/CTEA core indicators, this interactive conversation will take its point of departure in a review of two current RP Group studies. One focuses on state‐wide trends in the development and expansion of CTE programs and calculates and compares transfer rates for CTE students across and within disciplines and colleges. The other study is designed to document and describe the impact of CTE programs in the Bay Area. The purpose of this workshop is to launch a substantive conversation about how to capture and communicate CTE outcomes. The presenters will bring ideas to the table. Participants are invited to bring along their own ideas and to share local strategies.
