Alexander Needleman

Alexander Needleman is a first-generation college student who will be graduating from San Diego Mesa College with an Associate of Science Degree in Computer and Information Sciences. Mr. Needleman was added to the Dean’s Honors List for his academic performance in the 2020-21 academic year and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society’s Beta Epsilon chapter.

As part of a growing community of student leadership, Mr. Needleman worked together with other San Diego Mesa College students in what became known as the Mesa Pathways Fellows. In his role as a Project Assistant there, he amplified the student voice at Mesa College and brought a fresh perspective to several meetings with faculty and staff; input which proved to be invaluable to the Mesa Guided Pathways program in ensuring student equity and success was the college’s number one priority.

Mr. Needleman is currently working as a Research Assistant for the department of Institutional Effectiveness at San Diego Mesa College, helping analysts and planners provide the institution with tangible, humanized data in order to properly implement policies and strategies that will benefit students.
