Hailey Ly

San Diego Mesa College

Hailey Ly is a dedicated business economics student at Mesa College with hands-on experience in both administrative operations and accounting at a general construction company. Recognized for her academic contributions, she was selected to present her ethnographic research on gender stereotypes in chess at the Strengthening Student Success Conference in 2023 and the Mesa Research Conference in 2024.

Born and raised in Vietnam, Hailey spent five years actively addressing poverty as part of a local youth community group. She organized donation drives through her church to provide essential resources to underprivileged families. Now living in the United States, Hailey continues her community service mission as a Team Leader at Feeding San Diego. In this role, she leads volunteer teams in packing and distributing nutritious meals to thousands of families, helping combat food insecurity in her region.

As a business economics student with a passion for creating long-lasting change rather than immediate impact, Hailey aspires to build a business that can provide stable employment and contribute to the well-being of not just the economy but also the community in need.
