Iziaih Choquette

Iziaih Choquette is an aspiring multilingual engineer with a passion for humanitarianism, social justice, and environmental activism. They currently attend Los Angeles City College and are studying engineering and Korean language and culture, with a goal to attend school in South Korea for their masters. With their passions in mind, Iziaih aspires to one day develop tech in the field of natural disaster prevention and damage minimization, and provide services to people of color and other marginalized communities at little or no cost to help them in their disaster resiliency. They currently hold three titles, Vice Chairman of the Homeless Youth Forum of Los Angeles Board, Co-Founder of SPA-4 Youth and Young Adult Steering Council, and Youth Advisory Council Member for the Los Angeles LGBT Youth Center. They have worked directly with homeless and houseless youth, formerly incarcerated individuals, and students to assist them in resource referrals, support networking, and building their futures with success. As someone with lived experience, they work to ensure that the systems to support those struggling match their intent with their impact. Iziaih is also a member of the UMOJA program at LACC, which strives to support and connect African American and Black students to their community and to the cultures and traditions of the African Diaspora, while providing much-needed academic assistance and educational plan guidance. Iziaih’s biggest motivation is to one day see a world where all humans are treated the same and allowed to all strive for their greatest potential, fully supported by their diverse communities.
