Shireen Awad
Shireen Awad is a higher education leader committed to advancing student success, equity, and systems-level transformation. Since joining Chaffey College in 2015, she has served in a variety of roles that center holistic student support, beginning in the Foundation Office where she oversaw scholarships and expanded access to critical financial resources, and later in the Multidisciplinary Success Center where she supported student learning and development both inside and outside of the classroom.
In her current role as Administrator of Instructional Systems and Pathways Innovation, she leads cross-functional efforts that bridge Instruction and Student Services to strengthen institutional systems and embed equity into institutional practice. Her work includes leading Credit for Prior Learning initiatives, advancing policies and infrastructure that recognize learning beyond the traditional classroom, and supporting the development of systems that improve outcomes and assessment processes across the institution. Prior to this role, she served as a Curriculum Specialist for nearly a decade, partnering closely with faculty to design and refine curriculum processes and systems, while integrating Universal Design for Learning into course design and curriculum structures to better support diverse learners. She remains actively engaged in statewide initiatives, professional communities, and campus efforts that support the learning and development of students across the community college system.
As a coach for The RP Group’s Leading from the Middle program, she supports college teams across California in project-based leadership development. She believes every individual has the capacity to lead and shape meaningful change, which grounds her coaching in reflection, adaptability, transparency, and advocacy.
